Our Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and Shelter-in-Place
The State of California is currently under a shelter in place order and both the Contra Costa and Alameda County Superior Courts have closed. All court facilities are closed and services, including document filing, are unavailable. The only exception is for emergency restraining and family law orders through Alameda County. You may view the press releases and updates here for Contra Costa and here for Alameda.
With the shelter in place orders from Alameda County in effect, our office will be physically closed until at least April 8, 2020. Our office is equipped to work remotely and we plan to do so. The best way to reach us will be via email and we will be scheduling phone and video conferences as necessary.
Due to the court closure we are unable to file anything during this time and all matters with hearings between March 17, 2020 and April 7, 2020 are continued for an indefinite period of time. We do expect all other aspects of our cases to continue moving forward and we are currently accepting consultations and new clients.
The challenge that this pandemic presents to our community is unprecedented. Everyone is attempting to navigate the uncertainty, anxiety and heightened risk of the situation. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to find the right balance. The safety and health of our employees and clients is our highest priority, and we wish you all the best during this difficult time.
Please contact our office manager, Jordyn Kinney, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, should you have any questions or concerns during this time.
